Every year around this time, the Fall Equinox, I get a case of what my friends and I will joke, "back to school vibes" – where you feel inspired to comb through your long tangly mermaid locks from the wild summer ways, put your bra back on and energetically sharpen your "pencils."
After the election I unraveled. It felt like I was punched in the gut with a fist full of swords. I've had dark spells since my early teens, and have even danced with the devil himself at 19, but nothing was like this.
Over the years, my morning practice has been a catalyst for so much – a place to process emotion, empty my mind, receive visions, have clarity around big decisions, and most importantly, listen to the wisdom and guidance speaking from within.
For most of my life, a deep wish of mine was to call in a partner with whom I could share a life – to merge completely, to deepen in our connection with spirit, and to explore and serve the world together.
I'm so excited to finally share something near and dear to my heart. I've been pouring my love into this for months and it's finally out into the world! YAY! I present to you MAGNETIC, an 8-week journey for creative, ambitious women who long to experience more beauty, love and abundance in their lives.
There I was, sitting silently on a 7-acre stage with the warm Indian air caressing my skin... Around me in every direction were people from 180 countries from around the world united by a vision of our common humanity.
I just returned from being off the grid for a few weeks and I'm excited to be back in the redwoods to digest and integrate a very abundant few months – India! Orcas Island! Burning Man! The sacred waters of the Yuba! So much, so much.
In the next few months I will be sharing answers to questions my clients often ask me, interviews with wise women, insights from ceremonies and initiations, clips from my journals, and more – all related to walking the path of the priestess.
My dad is a musician and we would spend hours playing the piano and singing together when I was a kid. It's actually how my parents met. My dad was playing the piano at Villanova Law School back in the 70s, and my mom walked up and they started singing together and instantly fell in love.
This week on the Rising Women Leaders Podcast, I interviewed Rachel Rossitto of Rose Holistic about Divine Love & Partnership. Rachel’s been a dear sister this year to me and I often look to her for guidance when tapping into my femininity, creating sacred space, or honoring the love and relationships in my life.
This morning I woke up early, made tea and got right into the bath. I sang as the water filled half way. A cool breeze came in from the window and I felt immense gratitude for the simple, sweet moment. I felt raw and alive.
There I was, sitting upon the mineral rich soil of the old growth, redwood forest floor with a cup of cacao brew in my hands. I was sharing a pulse with 75 other teary-eyed women as the warm cacao penetrated our collective bloodstream.
A few months back I decided to become a member of the red drum carrier tribe – a group of women who dye their drum hides red to specifically channel the energy of the divine feminine. Red like the hindu goddess Kali and Mary Magdalene's robes.
A true goddess is a woman who is in full realization and expression of her divine feminine essence. She recognizes how bright her light is and isn’t shy to shine it out to the world. She has a healthy relationship to her darker side, too, because she has endured her darkest hour and received its lessons with honor and gratitude.
Over the weekend we lit candles, drank tea, cooked healthy nourishing food, hiked to waterfall, made mandalas out of flowers and leaves, adorned ourselves with jewels and lipstick and beautiful clothing, watched the sunset on top of a mountain overlooking the ocean, shared wisdom, meditated, sang songs, listened and danced to amazing music and laughed a lot.
